Darcy Bear has been re-elected chief of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.
In a release the band says he collected 85% of the votes cast in an election on Friday.
He now begins a four-year term.
Bear has led the First Nation since 1991.
Since that time the band says it has corrected a 40% deficit and opened an 80,000 square-foot Casino.
Bear says he appreciates all the support he’s received.
Councillors Frank Royal and Dwayne Eagle, who had served from 2003 to 2009, were also elected to council.
