The trial for a man charged after a riot in La Loche last year will not be taking place.
The proceedings were scheduled to begin yesterday, but 10 charges against 27-year-old Fabian Laprise were stayed by the Crown late last month.
On September 30th, 2011, emergency personnel were attacked while attending to an injured unconscious man after an ATV crash.
Police and ambulance personnel had cans, bottles and other debris thrown at them by people attending two nearby house parties.
A crowd later surrounded the hospital, damaged an ambulance and burned a police vehicle.
Another person accused in the case, 25-year-old Randall Laprise, pleaded guilty earlier this year and was handed a seven-month jail term.
Last April, 22-year-old Deano Laprise pleaded guilty to uttering threats and participating in a riot and was sentenced to six months.
