The city of Prince Albert is preparing to re-open regular traffic on the Diefenbaker Bridge.
City manager Robert Cotterill says starting Monday they will go from two lanes to three or four.
He says they will begin by jacking the bridge into its original position and putting temporary bearings underneath it.
The regular bearings are being sent away for refurbishing and should be back within a couple of weeks.
Traffic will temporarily go back down to two lanes while the bridge is jacked back up.
After that, Cotterill says things should get back to normal:
“There will be times that we will be utilizing three lanes as the contractor slowly takes the scaffolding down from underneath the bridge but generally we will either three or four lanes starting next week.”
He says there will no weight limits either and the work should be done by Christmas.
