The recent freezing death of a homeless man in Prince Albert has sparked the creation of a new group.
Larry Zepp is the spokesperson for “Citizens concerned about the homeless freezing to death in Prince Albert.”
Zepp says he was appalled to hear about the freezing death of James Benjamin Roberts.
The 49 year-old homeless man’s frozen body was discovered last week.
Zepp says Roberts had apparently gone into a nearby business to warm up but was kicked out.
He was found the next morning in some nearby bushes.
Zepp says he’s trying to raise awareness about the case to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
“Well it’s getting worse,” he says. “When one of the homeless freezes to death it doesn’t get any worse for that person. But the others, you know, we don’t want more people to freeze to death.”
Zepp says the City of Prince Albert should take more steps to make sure the homeless are being taken care of.
