Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says he wants more action and less talk when it comes to the dealing with the education and employment crisis facing the province’s Aboriginal community.

The premier says the government is open to funding new initiatives as long as they produce results.

However, he says a special resource revenue sharing deal is not one of the options on the table.

“Our position will remain unchanged, as long as I am premier and as long as this government is in office, there will be no special deals for any group, regardless of that group, in terms of natural resource revenue sharing,” Wall says.

The premier says a number of new initiatives to improve Aboriginal educational outcomes and employment will be released in either the upcoming provincial budget or sooner.

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and the province have also been working together on a joint task force that is examining Aboriginal education.

The task force’s report is also expected shortly.
