After nine years, the Bob Beatty era has come to an end with the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
Just days after the Junior A hockey club was eliminated from playoff contention for the first time in four years, Beatty is stepping down as head coach and director of hockey operations with the team.
In nine seasons with the Ice Wolves, Beatty had a won-lost record of 242-212 with the team missing the playoffs twice.
During this time, Beatty coached the Ice Wolves to back-to-back SJHL championships during the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons.
He will take on head coaching duties of the Cowichan Valley Capitals in the British Columbia Hockey League next season.
