Golden Band Resources has a new leader.

Mark Thiel is the company’s new interim president and CEO after his predecessor, Robson Garden, resigned suddenly for personal reasons.

In a release the company says Garden will stay on as a member of the company’s board of directors.

Thiel was not immediately available for comment.

However, the release does acknowledge Golden Band is currently facing many challenges.

Just a few weeks ago, the company hired Clarus Securities to help it analyze its current operations and financial position.

It began commercial production back in April of 2012.

It has two mines – the Roy Lloyd and Komis deposits.
