Buffalo Narrows RCMP made a drug bust last night after seizing an undisclosed amount of cocaine from a local residence.
As a result, fifty-year-old Kim L. McLeod and 62-year-old Francis A. Alcrow have been charged with possession of cocaine, possession for the purposes of trafficking cocaine and benefiting from the proceeds of crime.
RCMP Corporal Rob King says ongoing drug surveillance led police to obtain a warrant to search the residence.
“Police are constantly going through the community and trying to obtain information to try and stem the flow of drugs into that community and all communities in the north and it was that work by investigators at the detachment level that led to gathering that type of information that led to grounds for the search warrant and then the search and then the charges,” he says.
The man and woman are due to appear in court in Buffalo Narrows on Mar. 4.
