Remote and rural communities in Saskatchewan just got a lot more attractive for new doctors.

The provincial government has introduced a new incentive program which provides $120,000 over five years to doctors who set up a practice in remote and rural communities of 10,000 people or less.

The doctors will receive a bonus cheque each year, with the payout increased over the five-year deal.

The program is open to all new Canadian and international doctors and will be retroactive to April 2012
