The chief adjudicator for the group that oversees the Independent Assessment Process is calling it quits.
Dan Ish has been with the Indian Residential Schools Adjudication Secretariat since it was established in 2007.
At the time, he was told his work would likely wind up this fall.
However, due to the backlog of applications this now likely won’t take place until 2016 or 2017.
As a result, Ish has decided to retire from the job and a search is on for his replacement.
The secretariat says the search for Ish’s replacement won’t affect the claims process.
