After months of job losses, there is some good news on the Aboriginal employment front.

The latest numbers from Statistics Canada indicate off-reserve employment was up by 800 from February of last year.

That represents a two per cent increase from a year ago.

Economy Minister Bill Boyd says he expects the numbers will get even better.

Saskatchewan also had the lowest unemployment rate in Canada at 3.8 per cent last month.

That is the lowest it has been since November of 2008.

Saskatchewan’s minister of the economy also says there will be measures in this month’s budget that will keep aboriginal employment growing in Saskatchewan.
