Aboriginal artists up for Juno awards this weekend in Regina will be honoured at the First Nations University of Canada tomorrow.
It is one of dozens of pre-Juno events being held in Regina.
The Aboriginal chair of the Juno awards host committee, Tessa Desnomie, says the event is free and everyone is welcome.
“We invite anybody and everybody to come and join us,” she says. “We will be starting off the day tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. with a pipe ceremony.”
Aboriginal artists nominated for Juno awards including Crystal Shawanda, Don Amero, Janet Panic, Donny Parenteau and Burn- Project 1 will begin performing at about noon.
The event will wrap up at about 2 p.m.
The main Juno awards event is Sunday in Regina.
