Diversity was the topic of discussion on Thursday at the University of Saskatchewan’s Leadership Conference.
This part of the conference featured a panel discussion hosted by Saskatoon Health Region CEO Maura Davies.
Becky Sasakamoose Kuffner, one of the panel members, says Saskatchewan organizations have both a moral and vested interest in engaging Aboriginal people because of the province’s changing demographics.
“I think partly out of interest and partly out of necessity, our demographics have shifted drastically in the last five years and we’re starting to see that and recognize that,” she says. “And I think among the business community and governments are recognizing and embracing that shift toward diversity just to move us forward economically.”
The two-day conference took place at TCU Place in Saskatoon.
