The Prince Albert Police Service recently arrested 15 people in the city for engaging in prostitution.

Four men were arrested and had their cars seized, while 11 women were also charged.

However, what made this bust different than other crackdowns in the city was the presence of case workers from the city’s alternative measures program.

Sgt. Curtis Halcro explains the workers talked to the women after they were brought in to find out what factors forced them onto the streets to begin with:

“Whether it’s a lack of resources, whether it’s an addiction issues, they’re trying to get them pointed in the right direction.”

He says the men will have to go to “john school” before they can get their vehicles back.
