It appears Regina lawyer Bob Hrycan will likely represent a man accused of killing an Aboriginal woman in Saskatoon nine years ago.
Douglas Hales of White Fox is charged with first-degree murder and offering an indignity to a human body in the 2004 death of Onion Lake Cree Nation member Daleen Bosse.
At Court of Queen’s Bench in Saskatoon this morning, court heard Hales is in the final stages of reaching an agreement to have Hrycan represent him.
At issue, is whether court services will agree to pay for a junior counsel to assist Hrycan on the case.
The case has been adjourned until June 17.
