There are some striking facts about Aboriginal education in a new report.
The numbers are taken from the National Household Survey carried out in 2011.
It found that almost half of Aboriginal people had at least a trade certificate or college diploma in 2011.
Of those citizens who define themselves as Metis, 55% had completed post-secondary schooling.
For First Nations people, that number stood at 45%.
There were also more college and university graduates living off reserves then living on-reserve.
However, Statistics Canada does say that 36 reserves were not completely counted due to forest fires or other reasons.
Generally speaking, higher numbers of Aboriginal people aged 35 to 44 had completed high school compared to those who were aged 55 to 64.
