Saskatoon police have now officially closed their file on a missing persons case that attracted a lot of media attention over the last couple of weeks.

The case spans three provinces.

24 year-old Joseph Pelletier was reported missing from this Saskatoon home on May 24.

Five days later his vehicle was found abandoned in Calgary, and this weekend a family member located him in Vancouver.

There were fears he had been the victim of foul play.

Saskatoon police department spokesman, Alyson Edwards, says those fears were erased over the weekend.

“It was this weekend really when a family member went to the physical location where Pelletier might be and sure enough he was there and we know he is safe and now we can end the missing person investigation.”

Edwards says while there might be some family issues that need to be resolved,  there is no criminal matter that requires further investigation.
