RCMP are investigating a serious incident in Dillon.

On June 28th a man allegedly broke into the residence of a 72 year-old woman and attacked her.

RCMP got the call around 3:00 in the morning.

The victim as taken to hospital in Île-à-la-Crosse with non-life threatening injuries.

Mounties aren’t giving details about the incident, other than to say it was violent.

Sergeant Paul Dawson says other agencies have been called in to lend a hand:

“We have our members from North Battleford forensics as well as the Prince Albert general investigation section assisting the members in Dillon.”

The suspect is described as an adult, aboriginal male with short hair and a stocky build.

Dawson reminds residents they can provide information to the RCMP without giving their name.

They can either call the detachment or Crimestoppers.
