A number residents of Fond du Lac are being evacuated due to smoke concerns from a nearby fire.
The smoke is coming from a fire burning out of control by Lake Athabasca – about a kilometre away.
The first evacuation flights were scheduled for early Saturday afternoon for the elderly, young children and those with breathing difficulties.
The next round of flights will leave at 4:00 p.m.
It is expected evacuees will be taken to Prince Albert.
Anyone contacted by the priority evacuation list is asked to make their way to the airport.
