Phone service, both land line and cellular, returned to northwest Saskatchewan just after 5:00 pm today.
For much of the day, residents were forced to do without any kind of phone or Internet communications.
Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, Canoe Narrows, Dillon, Ile a la Crosse, La Loche, and Patuanak were all affected.
Prairie North Health Region spokesperson Cliff Orriss told MBC News they stayed in touch with Keewatin Yatthe Regional Health Authority officials through a radio link.
It took much of the day for SaskTel to patch the fibre optic cable that was affected.
However, Internet service is still being offered on a limited basis.
