The public is being invited to a series of hearings in La Ronge this week involving Cameco and bids for licence renewals at three northern Saskatchewan uranium operations.

The company will present its arguments to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission at the Kikinahk Friendship Centre starting Tuesday night.

Hearings will also take place on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Sierra Club has a presentation scheduled for Thursday morning.

The environmental organization says it has evidence that Cameco exceeds regulatory limits for pollutants – a claim the company says is false.

The hearings are open to the public and will be streamed online at nuclearsafety.gc.ca.
