Sparring sides within the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan were in a Saskatoon courtroom this morning.

A group of provincial council members had put forward a court injunction application trying to stop a legislative assembly meeting called by MNS President Robert Doucette and his executive on Sept. 7.

Nevertheless, the meeting went ahead and both sides appeared in court this morning to argue the legitimacy of the injunction application.

Lawyers speaking for Doucette and the executive tried to have the injunction application dismissed as the meeting has already passed.

Nevertheless, the judge granted an adjournment request to council for the provincial council members giving them more time to prepare their arguments and both sides are now due back in court on Nov. 5.
