Former Pasqua First Nation chief Elaine Chicoose is the new vice tribal chairperson of the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council.
She defeated runner-up Wendall Star by a tally of 54 to 27 on the second ballot of yesterday’s election.
Two other candidates were also in the running.
Ira Lavallee was the tribal council’s previous vice tribal chair.
