Eleven University of Saskatchewan projects have been selected to receive two million dollars in funding for their work in the area of nuclear energy research.

The money is being flowed through the Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation.

Projects selected for funding include those examining the use of medical isotopes for cancer research, improved materials for the storage of nuclear waste and measurement of greenhouse gases produced by the uranium industry.

Some of the partners in the projects include Areva, Cameco and Atomic Energy of Canada.
