An outdoor adventure company based in Anglin Lake has received an important designation from the Canadian Tourism Commission.
Sundogs Excursions is the seventh Saskatchewan company to be added to the Canadian Signature Experiences collection.
Owner-operator Brad Muir says it is an opportunity to promote his company and northern Saskatchewan to the rest of the world:
“CTC has got really innovative marketing ideas to attract international travelers, and so this is how we are really going to benefit — by the reach that they have that a small company like ours could not possibly manage on our own.”
Muir says the excursions have become very popular with people from other areas:
“It is funny when you’re talking to people who live in the north. They might not think that going out and having a big bonfire and cutting some trees and sitting around it is a big deal, because we do it every day. But for a lot of people in the world, they just don’t get to do that.”
Sundogs Excursions provides visitors the opportunity to experience the boreal forest in the winter, while working with sled dogs.
Muir says the schedule for this winter is nearly booked up — but there are still a few openings, especially for smaller groups.
