The provincial government is selling its stake in the Meadow Lake OSB Mill.
In 2001, the government secured a 25% stake in the Oriented Strand Board operation for an initial price tag of $27.5 million.
Now it has decided to sell that stake back to Tolko Industries for a $9 million profit.
In a release, the minister for Crown Investments, Donna Harpauer, says the sale is consistent with the government’s policy of letting the private sector lead growth.
She also says the forestry industry is in the midst of a strong recovery.
