Charges have been laid against a male teenager after a hit-and-run on the Big River reserve.

The crash happened on Friday between a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The 41 year-old male victim was air-lifted to hospital with undetermined injuries while the vehicle allegedly fled.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and police say the driver did return later.

19 year-old Justice Lachance faces one count of failing to remain at the scene of the accident.

He will appear in court in Big River next month.

Police also say alcohol was not a factor.
