Tragedy has struck a family from Maidstone.
Last night, a 51 year-old woman from the community was walking down the middle of Highway 16, east of Wadena, when she was fatally struck.
The collision occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m.
The victim has since been identified as Marlene Florence Cardinal.
Her family has been notified and the crash remains under investigation.
RCMP do not believe charges will be laid.
