A judge has ruled two meetings held by the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan secretariat last year were illegal.
In his ruling, Justice Keene says the only body that has the authority to call meetings under the MNS constitution is the Provincial Métis Council.
President Robert Doucette and the MNS secretariat held a special meeting on June 29, 2013 and a legislative assembly September 7th to 8th of the same year.
The ruling also says any legislation passed at these meetings is also null and void.
The legality of the meetings was challenged by 12 members of the PMC including MNS Vice-President Gerald Morin.
