A police dog is being credited with helping find a missing man from the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.
A ground search was organized yesterday for 21-year-old Jonathon Royal, who is described as a special needs person who requires assistance.
RCMP Sgt. Craig Cleary says Royal was reported missing Monday evening and was last seen yesterday morning, walking in an area near the Dakota Dunes Casino:
“Saskatoon Police Dog Services, the dog and the member, spent much of the day searching the bush throughout the reserve. And at about 4:00 p.m., the dog man discovered a track — and it was nowhere near the location where he was (last) seen. And then our fellow here, Jonathon Royal, was found hiding in the bushes.”
Cleary says Royal was safe and sound when he was located.
