The Prince Albert Grand Council’s 23rd Annual Fine Arts Festival wraps up Thursday at Senator Allen Bird Memorial Centre.
The Wednesday agenda included a grand entry, powwow exhibitions, dance competition and supper.
Ruby Thornton of Sturgeon Lake Central School has been involved in the event for 15 years.
She says this year about 1,700 students are taking part.
“From kindergarten to grade 12, from all of the grand council schools all the way from the far north to Wahpeton, every school runs a competition at the school level so that they pick the very best of their students to send to this competition.”
Thursday’s schedule includes oratory, drama and music categories.
The festival concludes with a teen dance in the evening.
