The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority was selected as business of the year Thursday night at the 25th Annual Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence.

Churchill River Canoe Outfitter’s Ric Driediger is also the recipient of the chairman’s lifetime achievement award and Batoche National Historic Site’s Rose-Marie Carey the service excellence award.

Waskesiu and Area Wilderness Region – Think Again is this year’s winner of the Gil Carduner marketing award.

The 101st Grey Cup Festival in Regina was also selected as event of the year.

Awards are given out in a total of 14 different categories.

There were a total of 100 nominations and 43 finalists.

The event was held at Teachers’ Credit Union Place in Saskatoon.
