Police believe a Regina man previously charged with murdering an Aboriginal woman was also behind the disappearance and murder of another Aboriginal woman.

32-year-old Clayton Bo Eichler is facing two separate charges of first-degree murder in the cases of Kelly Nicole Goforth and Richele Lee Bear.

The 23-year-old Bear disappeared in September — and even though her body has not been found, Regina police believe she is dead.

Eicher is also facing a charge of offering an indignity to a human body in that case.

He has been in custody ever since being charged with second-degree murder in Goforth’s death — but that charge has now been upgraded to first-degree murder.

Eichler is making a court appearance on the new charges today.

Regina Police Chief Troy Hagen is addressing the new charges in a press conference this morning.
