An RCMP member from the Fort Qu’Appelle detachment is due to appear in court Thursday on an impaired driving charge.

Police say 46-year-old Alphonse Noey was charged in May after an incident in Fort Qu’Appelle which occurred in December when he was off-duty.

Along with the criminal charge of impaired driving, the constable is also the subject of a code of conduct investigation.

Noey has been on administrative leave since early May.

The RCMP will also conduct an internal review into how the initial incident involving the officer was handled.

Noey has ties to northern Saskatchewan and has been previously posted in the province’s north, including the Wollaston Lake detachment.
