A trial date has been set for the chief of the Buffalo River Dene Nation on a charge of assault.
On Mar. 24, RCMP were called to a home on the reserve after receiving a report that a 29-year-old man had been assaulted.
After an investigation, 41-year-old Lance Byhette was arrested.
He is facing one count of assault and one count of being intoxicated on the reserve.
His trial is set for Oct. 15 in Dillon.
Byhette was elected as chief of the Buffalo River Dene Nation in March 2013.
