RCMP are confirming they shot and killed a dog on the Key First Nation on Friday.
Police say the incident occurred in response to the dog attacking an RCMP service dog.
Officers say they were attempting to arrest 28-year-old Adam Cote on warrants for charges, including aggravated assault, at the time.
Police allege Cote was hiding in a home on the reserve and during the arrest a dog from the community attacked the RCMP dog.
Officers say Cote suffered injuries during the arrest and remains in hospital.
