A public inquest into the death of Morris Ermine will take place next week in Prince Albert.
Ermine, 77, was found unresponsive in a Prince Albert police cell on July 19, 2012.
He was taken to hospital in Saskatoon and pronounced dead later that day.
A public inquest is automatically held when someone dies in police custody.
Five days have been set aside for the inquest which will take place August 11-15.
The proceedings will be used to establish details surrounding the death and the coroner’s jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.
The inquest will be held at Court of Queen’s Bench.
