An arrest warrant has been issued for a 29-year-old woman who is awaiting trial after being charged in a Regina murder last year.

Brianna Wesaquate is accused of second-degree murder in the death Cassandra Joan Desjarlais.

Desjarlais died in the early-morning hours of Oct. 31, 2013.

Wesaquate was released from custody in March and has been on electronic monitoring ever since.

On Tuesday, she was given permission to leave her residence on the Pasqua First Nation but an alarm was generated after Wesaquate failed to return to her home at the pre-arranged time.

At last word, RCMP say they are unsure if the electronic bracelet has been cut off.

The Mounties ask anyone who sees Wesaquate to not approach her but instead phone local police or the RCMP.
