The chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is not backing down in her demands for an apology and tough disciplinary action against an RCMP member who allegedly made a racist posting on Facebook.
Chief Tammy Cook-Searson had a chance to discuss the matter with the north central Saskatchewan commander of the RCMP on Tuesday night.
She says the band is happy to continue working with Mounties on the issue but would like to a formal meeting and apology from the RCMP that addresses both council and elders.
The LLRIB Chief’s outrage was triggered by a posting about a shooting incident in Sucker River in which an RCMP member allegedly wrote, “All drunk uneducated animals shooting at each other.”
