The jury has been selected at the inquest into the death of Dylan LaChance.

The 16-year-old LaChance, of the Big River First Nation, passed away while he was at the Prince Albert Youth Residence in September of last year.

LaChance was found in medical distress at the facility and later died in hospital.

He was taken to the youth residence a day after RCMP were called to a fight outside the Big River First Nation high school.

Three of the members of the jury are of Aboriginal decent at the request of the family.

Sixteen witnesses are expected to testify at the inquest to assist the jury in making recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.

The inquest runs throughout the week in Prince Albert.
