Former Saskatchewan Roughrider and Hall of Fame receiver Don Narcisse is lending a hand to a new campaign that hopes to create greater awareness about lung disease.
The Truth or Dare for Lungs campaign was launched Monday morning in Saskatoon.
Participants are encouraged to post on social media their own lung health story and challenge others by doing their best rendition of Narcisse’s famous touchdown dance.
Narcisse is the ambassador for the campaign and he says he never let a lifelong affliction with asthma hold him back.
“It didn’t hold me back at all,” he says. “I tell you what, it was a stepping stone for me because I knew I had something that was holding me down but I knew I always had to work a little harder, I had to be a little faster, couldn’t be a little taller but I had to be a little faster and I had to outwork each and everybody.”
Neechie Gear owner Kendal Netmaker is also part of Narcisse’s team of ambassadors.
The campaign is put on by the Saskatchewan Lung Association.
November is National Lung Month.
