Southend RCMP say five teens reported missing last week after a hunting trip are now back home safe.

The four boys and one girl ranging in age from 13 to 17 left in two boats last Tuesday to hunt moose.

They were reported missing late Thursday evening when they did not return home.

RCMP say a rescue boat picked up the youth today on one side of Malcolm Island which is located in Reindeer Lake.

They were taken to the other side of the island, where there is a small airstrip.

CASARA was able to land at that airstrip and transport the youth in two trips back to Southend.

They were reported to be in good health but were checked over at the local health centre as a precaution.

RCMP are thanking members of the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association and local residents for their help during the search which began last Friday.
