Former FSIN Chief Lawrence Joseph plans to seek the Liberal nomination in northern Saskatchewan for next year’s federal election.
Joseph ran in the same riding, Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River, under the NDP banner in the last election.
Joseph says he ran for the New Democrats in 2011 because he believed in late leader Jack Layton — and now he believes in Justin Trudeau.
Joseph will talk about his decision later today in Prince Albert.
In the 2011 election, Joseph received 44.3% of the vote, losing to Conservative MP Rob Clarke by less than 800 votes.
