A First Nations man and North Battleford City Councillor will be running for the Liberal Party of Canada in the Battleford/Lloydminster constituency.

Ray Fox said his decision to run for the Liberals was supported by his trust in leader Justin Trudeau.

“Justin Trudeau I believe will be the next Prime Minister of Canada.  I have no doubts about that at all.” Said Fox.

When speaking on what would be his main priorities if he made it to Ottawa, Fox says he wants to stop the stonewalling on the inquiry into missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls.

“There is something horribly wrong there,” said Fox.  “Not only in the country, but internationally there are people asking the prime minister to do this inquiry.  Not only is it unfair, it is dangerous actually to not do the inquiry.”

Fox also said he would stand up for the rights of Canadian Veterans.

Fox has been serving as a city Councillor for North Battleford for the past 12 years.

He will be acclaimed the Liberal candidate at a nomination meeting in North Battleford Saturday.
