Added security was put in place at Regina Court of Queen’s Bench this morning as the murder trial of 34-year-old Adam Cyr resumed with the prosecution’s final witness.

Cyr is accused of beating two-year-old Natalia Shingoose to death in June of 2012.

The girl’s mother Amanda Trevors was on the witness stand this morning being cross-examined.

There have been several emotional outbursts during the trial from both witnesses and court spectators.

This morning, everyone entering the court house was screened and went through a metal detector.

This follows a complaint from the Saskatchewan Coalition Against Racism which expressed its concern about the lack of security during the volatile trial.
