Two men from the Saulteaux First Nation are facing charges after a violent home invasion on the reserve early yesterday.
RCMP received word of a possible stabbing at Saulteaux and found a man with serious injuries.
Police later learned of a man being treated at the Battlefords Union Hospital for a gunshot wound.
Both victims were at a Saulteaux residence when three males broke in with their faces covered.
One of the victims was shot in the back with a shotgun, while the other was attacked with an edged weapon.
Both have since been transferred to a hospital in Saskatoon.
While the injuries are serious, none are considered to be life-threatening.
The two suspects appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court this morning.
Twenty-three-year-old Tory Ian Walter Moccasin and 19-year-old Black Moccasin are facing several charges, including break and enter to commit aggravated assault.
A third suspect, 23-year-old Troy Ryan Delorme, has been charged with breaking and entering and committing an aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, wearing a mask with intent and breach of probation.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
