A gas station on the Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation has been fined $27,000 for environmental violations.
Blackhawk’s Gas pleaded guilty to the offenses in provincial court on Wednesday.
The business was ordered to pay $25,000 for failing to comply with an order given by an environmental officer.
Blackhawk’s Gas was also fined an additional $2,000 for not having an emergency plan and failing to perform required inspections.
As a result of the conviction, Blackhawk’s Gas will be added to the Environmental Offender’s Registry.
