Athabasca NDP MLA Buckley Belanger has announced he will seek re-election.
In a press release, Belanger says one of the reasons he is running again is because the Wall government continues to ignore northern Saskatchewan.
The Athabasca MLA has been an elected member of the Saskatchewan Legislature for 20 years.
He was first elected as a Liberal in the riding in 1995 before crossing the floor to the NDP a few years later.
Belanger then won a subsequent by-election for the NDP in 1998 and has been re-elected in four elections since.
Prior to entering provincial politics, he served as the mayor of Ile-a-la Crosse from 1988 to 1994.
