Operations at Cameco’s Key Lake mill were temporarily halted last month after employees discovered uranium dust in the plant.
On February 16, contractors installing piping reported dust in the area they were working in.
After completing the repairs, Cameco reported the incident to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
The CNSC says it conducted an inspection of the mill and is satisfied with the corrective actions taken by Cameco in the situation.
A similar event of uranium dust being found in the plant was reported in January.
A spokesperson for Cameco says the company doesn’t take these situations lightly and takes the safety of its employees very seriously.
The CNSC says no uranium was released into the environment in either incident.
