The First Nations University of Canada’s Annual Spring Celebration Pow Wow is set to take place in Regina this weekend.
Organizers for the event say the pow wow is an opportunity to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
Committee chair Richard Messins says the student body has been vital to the success of the event throughout the year.
“All the students that we work with, the volunteers, and even the ones that help out on the committee — they’re very proud of the university and they’re very proud of their own culture, their identity. And so, they want to celebrate that.”
Messins says the pow wow is open to all people because it is about teaching First Nations culture to other people.
The event will kick off at noon on Saturday at Regina’s Brandt Centre.
